Abstract
Facet joint cyst are a rare disease caused by degenerative changes such as osteoarthritis of the facet joint, or spondylolisthesis. Treatment methods for the facet joint cyst include surgical methods such as surgical facet joint cyst resection, and non-surgical methods, such as facet joint steroid injection and facet joint cyst aspiration. In this case, an 83-year-old man complained of back pain with a stretching sensation and numbness from the front of the thigh to the knee, and magnetic resonance imaging of the lumbar spine revealed cystic lesions on the left L4/5 facet joint. After performing facet joint cyst aspiration under C-arm guidance, the patient's symptoms improved immediately. Further, during a follow-up of 11 months, the patient showed no signs of aggravation or recurrence.
